Hello I am Yvonne Cooper, MSW,LCSW Owner and Licensed Individual Practitioner (LIP) at Whole Person Wellness PLLC with locations in Rocky Mount, NC and Emporia, Virginia. Background I completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of South Carolina in 2010. After completing my degree, I returned to Eastern North Carolina where I practiced as a Licensed therapist specializing in emotional and mental health problems in children, adolescents, and adults. Being a product of Eastern North Carolina has given me unique insight into the issues and needs of families from smaller communities. In 2019 I expanded my practice to include working with families in Brunswick and Greensville counties Virginia. With an approach to counseling best described as one that is person-centered and family systems oriented, I believe that people can reach their best potential given the right support and tools for change, and that whenever possible the whole family should be involved in the journey. My therapeutic focus includes play therapy techniques; cognitive behavioral interventions; and teaching effective coping skills, all methods designed to assist individuals under to successfully manage their mental health symptoms and current and past stressors.
